THROWBACK THURSDAY SONG-OF-THE-DAY 1.10.19

Lynn Strait from the band, Snot, perished in a car accident on December 11, 1998. He was only 30 years old.

The wreck involved 6 cars on an on-ramp in California. He was the only person who died in the accident but his dog, Dobbs, also died in the crash. Dobbs was the band’s mascot and was on the cover of their album in 1997 album.

A tribute album was released nearly two years after his death and this was the only official single released from it. It was written by Lajon Witherspoon & guitarist Clint Lowery of Sevendust.

The tribute album was called “Strait Up” and it also featured members of: Limp BizkitKornSlipknotSevendust, System of a DownIncubus, as well as Ozzy Osbourne, and many others.

In 2002, Sevendust recorded a studio version of the song for their 2001 album, Animosity, and later released it as a single.
