1994’s Street Fighter: The Movie is Still a Hilarious Cinematic Masterpiece

Last night before my wife got home, I decided that I was gonna not watch the same old episodes of Futurama and instead watch a movie.

I was browsing through Hulu and seeing all sorts of different movies, and then I stumbled upon a movie that I haven’t seen in a couple years, and that was Street Fighter: TheĀ  Movie from 1994. Starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Raul Julia, Kylie Minogue, and whomever else was in that movie. As I was sitting there watching it, I couldn’t stop laughing at the campy-ness of this movie.

Making it in its own way? A cinematic masterpiece.

If you are looking for something to just a have a good time watching and laughing at something I’m sure they were trying to make serious? Look no further than Street Fighter: The Movie.

It has larger than life characters, a Hawaiian E-Honda, random actors I’m sure thought that this was their big break, Zangief is just amazing, and this could easily be one of the best roles Raul Julia ever performed. Aside from all the jokes and campy movie stuff, Raul Julia is just awesome. He should have played more sadistic crazy people in movies! Sadly this was his last movie before he died, the dude was a freaking talent.

If you love B-Movies like I do? Street Fighter is one of the best action/martial arts/WTF type of movie you can watch out there.

Here might be the best villain speech of all time too.
