Terminator is one of those movies I feel like they keep making because someone screwed up somewhere.
What I mean by this is that it should have ended with Terminator 2: Judgement Day…then the studio said, ‘Hell, there is money somewhere in there, let’s make a third with a story line no one will seemingly understand.’ Then honestly, the true Judgement Day began, and it was the Terminator franchise….the two stinkers in the bunch?
- Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
- Terminator Genesis? Genesys?….
I know most will feel l need to put Salvation in there, but I honestly enjoyed it.
Terminator is back in ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’…and series creator James Cameron (Avatar, Titanic, original Terminator) finally said ‘Dammit guys, stop f***in up my series!’ as Cameron was the assistant writer and is also producing it.
This movie will welcome back series original Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Where does this movie fall in the timeline? I have no idea, and I don’t think anyone does until we see the movie.
I will say this formula seems EXTREMELY familiar….doesn’t this formula of older series original actor returning to the series for a film franchise that’s been slapped and beaten to death ring a bell?
Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween (2018)
It’s a bold strategy Cotton…let’s see how this pans out for them.
