I have a coworker that is 24-years-young, and is on Tinder. He wants us to call him “Danny”. We talked about his profile on the air Friday. He asked me to re-write it for him, and agreed to keep the profile I wrote for 1 week.
Here was the profile HE HAD:
Really geeky, twitch streamer, podcaster, occasional photographer, and radio traffic manager
Usually will message first but impressed if you do!
5’11 blue-green eyes
This cat’s face says it all…
Here is what I wrote for him:
If we match, I would love to get to know what makes you tick. You are unique!
Let’s chat a bit, then meet up with no pressure or expectations, just two people hanging out.
Ask me anything. Look forward to meeting you.
I told him not to include so much of what he “does”, but leave it more generic. You want someone to like you for you, not what you DO, right?! I was on dating apps for 5 years, and I never once put my occupation. Also, who leads a profile with “Really geeky”?! Make the profile more about getting to know HER, and once you start chatting don’t be a douche and talk about sex right away. 70% of men do that, and us women are soooo over it!! I always say “Guys, be a gentleman the first 2 dates, don’t mention sex, and you’re almost 100% guaranteed to get some on the third date.”
Lead with sex, and there’s nothing unique about you. What do I know, though? I’m 41, not 24 lol. I’m soooo happy that I got rid of my apps 32 days ago after 5 years of searching for Mr. Right. All it took was a move here to Iowa to find him!
We will check in with “Danny” again on air this Monday to see how my profile is working out. Stay tuned!
