FRIDAY ROCK REPORT

VH1 Classic announced they will televise the 6th annual Golden Gods awards show on Saturday night, May 24th. The show will be taped next Wednesday in Los Angeles and can be streamed at VH1.com or VH1’s mobile app.
Korn, Guns N’ Roses, Zakk Wylde and The Pretty Reckless are some of the bands who will be performing.

Fans can vote on who will take home this year's awards in 12 different categories. This list includes: "Album Of The Year," "Song Of The Year", "Best New Talent", "Best Vocalist," "Paul Gray Best Bassist," "Best Drummer" "Most Metal Athlete," "Best Live Band," "Comeback Of The Year" and "Most Dedicated Fans." New to this year's show, the "Best Guitarist" award has been renamed after "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, the late, great PANTERA guitarist.

More news about the future of AC/DC. Guitarist Malcolm Young has announced that he is is taking a break from the band due to “ill health.” The band took to their Facebook Wednesday to announce the news and let fans know that new music would still come. The band wrote, “After forty years of life dedicated to AC/DC, guitarist and founding member Malcolm Young is taking a break from the band due to ill health. Malcolm would like to thank the group’s diehard legions of fans worldwide for their never-ending love and support.”
