Sub-5:00 Beer Mile

Wednesday, Apr, 30 2014

Two-time NCAA 5,000 meter champion, James Nielson, has apparently become the first person to break the five-minute barrier in the Beer Mile.

The Beer Mile is when someone runs a mile around a track, stopping every lap to chug a can of beer.
Apparently there is a 10-meter exchange zone where the beers have to be consumed to avoid penalties.
The Canadian man now lives in California, and claims to have broken the “world record” for the event after completing the feat in 4 minutes 57 seconds last weekend.

"Crackathon" game with Mayor Rob Ford

Tuesday, Apr, 29 2014

Wanna burn some time at work? A new online video game allows players to pick up marijuana leaves, crack pipes, and bottles of booze while playing as a digital version of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford. As the mayor, you must collect  "party points" while at the same time keeping the mayor's "public opinion" from reaching zero.

Bubble Soccer!

Tuesday, Apr, 29 2014

New style of soccer is gaining popularity overseas. Bubble Soccer. The name is exactly like it sounds. The players are encased in a giant plastic air-filled bubble, but your legs are free to run around and slam into people.

If you get knocked over by another player. No worries! You’ll hit the ground in an air-filled bubble and just roll around until you are able to get on your feet.

A problem however…if you are goalie…your arms are stuck in the bubble. So if you try to block with your hands, you can’t. Or if you prefer to pump your arms while running…no go.
