A walk-off, inside-the-park strikeout

Wednesday, Jun, 4 2014

Here’s a very odd way to win a state championship…a walk-off, inside-the-park strikeout.

Most of us dreamed once of winning a championship by crushing a walk-off homer, rounding the bases, and meeting our teammates at home plate to celebrate. That happened in the Montana 2A state softball championship this weekend, except without the home run part. With the bases empty in the bottom of the seventh inning a girl failed to make contact on strike three, but the catcher couldn't field the ball. She reached first on a throwing error, was safe at second, then made it to third from another bad throw and eventually scored.

ROCK REPORT - Wednesday

Wednesday, Jun, 4 2014

Limp Bizkit is currently finishing up their new album titled "Stamped of the Disco Elephants" and you'll be able to purchase a new song from the group soon...but there's a catch. The band has revealed that a track called "Endless Slaughter" will be sold exclusively at Limp Bizkit concerts....on cassette tape. That's right, you'll have to go a bit old school to listen to it.

As for where you can find Limp Bizkit in concert, you'll have to go to Europe. The only U.S. date so far is September 13th in Sacramento.

As for the album's release, no date has been confirmed, but it looks like July is the target month.

Swarm of Grasshoppers so large it shows up on radar...

Tuesday, Jun, 3 2014

The National Weather Service says a swarm of grasshoppers were detected over New Mexico for the fourth night in a row on Friday. Apparently a swarm of grasshoppers got caught in some winds and were being carried as high as 1,000 feet.

The grasshoppers likely hatched weeks ago and are now grown, leading to their ability to trigger radar images.
Technicians initially thought their equipment was malfunctioning when they saw several unexplained clusters. This is the worst grasshopper infestation the region has seen in 20 years.

Toilet Paper Wedding Dress

Tuesday, Jun, 3 2014

An artist has created a wedding gown using nothing but 11 rolls of toilet paper, 100 feet of tape and a whole lot of glue. The art student in North Carolina built her creation for the annual Cheap Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest, sponsored by Charmin. She said that she probably spent around 20 hours working on it.
The inside of the dress was supported with packaging tape, so it wasn't at risk of ripping too much. However it did require 'a lot of wiggling' to get into it. The dress didn't win last year's Charmin contest but it came in 15th out of more than 1,400 entries, and she plans to re-enter this year.
