1 Week From Today The Legend Continues

If you read my blog title and think, the legend of St. Nick is 2 weeks away well yes I realize this. What I'm talking about is Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. The legend of course is Ron Burgundy and the Channel 4 news team. This blog isn't about how fired up I am to see this, or how well I think it will do in theaters, or how you should go see it. This is about how Will Ferrell is like no other person in the world.

Ferrell has spent the last few months promoting this movie. Rightfully so, as this is one of the most anticipated movies of 2013. But he's done it in a different way. A few weeks back, for whatever reason, Ferrell dressed up as Ron Burgundy and appeared on a newscast in Bismarck, North Dakota. The whole newscast. And he played Ron Burgundy the whole time. Why? Who knows and who cares? It's the fact that he traveled to Bismarck, North Dakota (I've never been to Bismarck and I'm not sure I ever want to go) and not only made everyone who saw the video laugh, but he was also respectful and interacted with his co-anchor, the sportscaster, and the weatherman. I don't know about you, but I can't name another actor, actress, famous person, etc... to do anything remotely close to this. Albeit pretty random.

This isn't the first time and certainly won't be the last time he does something like this. If you watched the Super Bowl this past February, you saw some pretty funny commercials and you also saw the Baltimore Ravens defeat the San Franciso 49ers. What you didn't see, unless you lived Glendive, Montana; Sherman, Texas; or Ardmore, Oklahoma was Will Ferrell appearing in an Old Milwaukee ad. Why did he do it and why just those 3 towns? Who knows and who cares? The fact is he did it, millions of us saw it, and millions of us laughed.
