City of Cedar Falls Hires Waterloo Architect to Design Public Safety Building
Likely to be Built where South Fire Station is Now
0 0

The Cedar Falls City Council hired a Waterloo architectural company this week to design a proposed new public safety building.

The contract with InVision, approved unanimously without discussion, will pay the firm 7 ½% of the estimated $9-million construction cost, or about $611,000.

The council is looking at the site of the existing south fire station near Greenhill Road and South Main Street for the new, multi-purpose headquarters for all police & fire department administrative offices, plus the police station and the main firehouse.

If it’s built there in the next two fiscal years, the present main fire station at East 18th and Main will become a substation.
