CLIVE, Iowa (AP) — Iowa Lottery officials say someone who bought a Powerball ticket in Avoca has won a $1 million prize.

The ticket purchased at Wings America Travel Centre matched the first five numbers drawn Wednesday but missed on the Powerball number.

No one won the jackpot Wednesday, so it's expected to grow to an estimated $356 million for Saturday's drawing. That's $224 million for the lump sum option.

Meanwhile, a Waterloo woman has kept a promise to her late mother-in-law, by winning the Iowa Lottery's "Bonus Ball Bingo," scratch game. 52-year old Sandra Grady bought her winning ticket Monday at the Prime Mart on Marigold Drive in Waterloo and it turned out to be the 6th of 29 top prizes of $25,000. Grady claimed her prize the same day at the Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids.
