Waterloo Water Works Customers Asked to Check Bills
Software Snafu to Blame
0 0

Waterloo Water Works customers are being advised to review their bills, after a software problem was discovered that led to some inaccurate statements.

General Manager Matt Mahler says the malfunction affected five residential routes across the city, including parts of Audubon Park…along West 4th Street through downtown…and some neighborhoods surrounding Cunningham Elementary School and southwest of Broadway Street.

Water Works officials estimate that less than 10% of the customers on those routes received incorrect low billing amounts in the second quarter, which resulted in a higher billing amount in the 3rd quarter to make up the difference.

Customers are asked to review their 3rd quarter statement and contact the Water Works billing department if there’s a concern with the amount. Waterloo Water Works billing can be reached at 319-232-6280, prompt number-6…or you can stop by the office at 325 Sycamore Street between 8 and 5 Monday through Friday.
