Cedar Falls Signs with Waterloo Architect for Inclusive Playground
To be Built at Greenhill Park

The Cedar Falls City Council last(Tue) night approved a $62,000 contract with a Waterloo landscape architect, which will draw up plans for a playground that’ll cater to all children, but particularly those with special needs.

The estimated $622,000 playground will be built at Greenhill Park, just off Algonquin & Ashworth Roads, on the southwest side of town(Cedar Falls.)

City officials say funding for the project is coming from a number of sources, including $250,000 from the Black Hawk County Gaming Association. It’ll be paid for over three fiscal years.

And they were sworn in last month, but last(Tues) night’s meeting was the first for new council members Rob Green and Daryl Kruse. Mayor Jim Brown, now beginning his second, 2-year term, appointed Tom Blanford Mayor Pro Tem, replacing Frank Darrah.
