'Road Rash 2' on Sega Genesis Was a Freakin' Blast

By Tim Martin Jul 22, 2020 | 1:35 PM

I love this damn game.

No it’s not Mario, Zelda, Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls, or whatever…but a little game where you raced down the road and beat the living hell out of your opponents with chains and billy clubs…freakin’ Road Rash 2 man, and it’s amazingly 27 years old.

It was released only for the Sega Genesis way back when, and is just one of those games that will never get old. The moment I plop that old cartridge into my Sega Genesis, I am transported back to the 2nd house I ever lived in and my neighborhood friend Jon (who I am STILL friends with 20+ years later!). We’d stay up all night for a sleepover, chug Surge, and play this fun game.

One of our favorite things to do was switch the names of our characters…mine was always….get ready….’Cocksnot.’….horrifying name right?

Road Rash 2 bikers will eventually be part of my tattoo sleeve, that’s how much I love this game. The franchise has been dormant for many years and there are better ones in the series, but Road Rash 2 was and still is a ton of fun to play.
