The Two Meals I've Eaten Every Single Day For The Past 4 Years

By Tim Martin Jun 3, 2020 | 6:36 AM

I was thinking about how I’ve eaten the same two meals for lunch almost every day for the past 4 years.  What’s weird, is that I still haven’t gotten sick of them, and actually look forward to eating them.  (I explain why I eat like this below.)  These are the two meals:

A raw veggie plate with deli chicken or turkey, hummus and water.  I take the meat, wrap it around the veggie then dip it in hummus.

Thin bread sandwich with hummus, deli meat, tomatoes, pickles and spinach.

You might be thinking “How BORING!”.  Mind you, I only eat like this Monday-Friday.  On weekends, I let myself hog out like this:

When I was in my 20’s and 30’s I could eat unhealthy all the time and it never affected my weight.  But being 41-years-old now, I choose to eat healthier, because I pack on the pounds quick if not.  I’ve actually learned to love the healthy meals I make.  I just want to be able to fit into my dresses, so it’s worth it.  I also run during the week, and I HATE running, but it keeps the pounds off and makes me feel better about myself in general.

Sometimes I get teased about how I worry too much about my weight/body image.  I agree, I do tend to put too much attention towards it, but what most people don’t know is that back in my 20’s I suffered from an eating disorder that lasted 2 years.  Back during that time I had quit drinking, and then my addiction switched to food, and I developed an eating disorder.  I have been free of that addiction for YEARS now, but I have to be mindful and only eat stuff that I feel comfortable with. Just do YOU!!!

Do you have a go-to meal?
