How cool is this?! One of the first theatres in the country to bring the play “Parking Lot” into production will be happening right here in Cedar Rapids at Mirrorbox Theatre!

“The Parking Lot” was written to take place in an actual parking lot, so Mirrorbox Theatre decided to do just that! The show will take place in the parking lot behind CSPS Hall, 1103 Third St. SE, from Friday to Sept. 26. The “venue” will hold up to 22 cars, and the sound will be broadcast over an open FM frequency.
Story overview :
J and Terry are married, but they might not stay that way for long. While most couples have the benefit of negotiating the ups and downs of marriage in private, or in therapy, J and Terry have taken a different approach. Instead they have chosen a parking lot as the setting to answer one of life’s biggest questions: Should we get divorced?
What’s super bad ass is that a real married couple from Cedar Rapids (Marcia Hughes and Scot Hughes) will be playing the couple in the play!
