Iowa City Mask Mandate Extended Until November 13th

Mask up.

Are you still wearing your mask? Well in some Iowa areas, masks are mandated so you best keep wearing one of face a fine!

Speaking of that, Iowa City Mayor Bruce Teague has ordered that the mask mandate for Iowa City be extended until November 13th. The mandate was put in place on July 21st.

This means that a face mask must be worn inside all public spaces inside and out when social distancing is not possible. So if you are a business owner, patrons mush have a mask to enter or be served, and must also post signs at their entrance stating that mask are required for entry.

There are some exemptions to the rule, which you can find at the link below.

Violations of the order are subject to a $105 fine for the first offense and $855 for second and subsequent offenses.
