What's With Those Annoying Tiny Biting Black Bugs Everywhere?!?

By Tim Martin Oct 13, 2020 | 1:02 PM

This weekend I was setting up my stroller outside on a beautiful Fall day…

When suddenly I kept getting bit by these tiny black bugs…and MAN…did they sting! After a minute, it became too much to bear and I got inside and discovered all sorts of little bites all on my arms and legs…so…what the hell?

I discovered today that these bugs are named ‘Minute Pirate Bugs’ or ‘Insidious Flower Bugs’ and they are annoying and hurt like hell when they give you a sting! Chances are if you have been outside for any length? These little bastards have gotten you too! They normally don’t stick around during the summer, but come harvest time in the fields? These bugs kick up and head to rural areas trying to find food, and guess what they want to test and see if it’s food? YOU!

The Gazette published and article all about it which you can see below.

The best defense, Entomology Professor Dr. Donald Lewis said, is covering exposed skin — not exactly what anyone wants…

When sticking around outside? You’re gonna get food tested by a bug.
