As of today, I have appointed a “lucky winner” to be my new crush. That lucky winner is Ivan Moody.
As you may or may not know, throughout my lifetime I develop crushes. (You may have heard me mention some of the other “lucky winners” on my show.) These crushes typically last about four to six months. My last crush was Jonathan Davis, which lasted five months. Some of my other previous “lucky winners” were (in no particular order):
Benicio del Toro, Dave Gahan, Josh Brolin, Peter Sarsgaard, Ralph Fiennes, Conan O’brien (don’t ask).
I’ve been told by people that my taste in men is “unusual, bizarre and random”. I tell those people to go eat a big _____ ,because I myself am unusual, bizarre and random. I like what I damn well like, and proud of it!
Here’s the thing. I don’t take these crushes seriously. I’m not spending every waking minute Googling them. I honestly don’t know a whole lot about them, and I like it that way. It’s just something I do that makes life a bit more fun. I mean, come on… I’ve been single over 6 years (by choice), so having a crush is great. There’s no commitment, and I’m pretty sure I’m afraid of commitment!
When it comes to my newest winner, Ivan… I will admit that I do know a tidbit about him. (What’s funny is that I think my friend of 16 years, Scotty Corl worked with his band here and there over the years.) Anyways, I know a tidbit about Ivan, because I host an Active Rock morning radio show, and it’s my job haha. I know that we are one year apart in age, and I do somewhat fancy his band, Five Finger Death Punch, but that’s not the trigger for this crush. The trigger IS… that he got sober. Myself being sober now 6 1/2 years, it’s a major turn on, because I know how hard it is to pull yourself out of that nightmarish HELL. It takes major balls, guts and persistence. THAT is the reason for this crush. It’s sexy AF!!
We shall see how long this crush lasts. Forgive me ahead of time if/when you hear me talk about my current “lucky winner” on-air. Oh, after I decided that Ivan was to be my new crush, I looked up his Facebook page. I found this video, and it sealed the deal. (Lucky him!!) 😉
